Good Night and GOD bless you, folks!
Dark Star ->
Sugar Magnolia ->
Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)
One More Saturday Night
This is the heart and soul of this show.
If time permits check out the full concert.
Easily, some of the most moving GD
that I have ever experienced:
The Dark Star is stunning
and the point where they decide
to go into the feeling groovy jam
allows them the sweetest transition
into Sugar Magnolia.
Bob's vocal range is a little on the narrow side
Sounds like an early in the tour cold.
But the band is so hyped
that I still consider this an excellent Sugar Mag
with a hard stop into Sunshine Daydream
and they really double time.
Weir just sticks with rapping
"Sweet magnolia Daydream"
Now truthfully if that was the end of this show
would anyone have been disappointed?
Yet, they go back into jam mode for a Caution.
and as with the entire back end of this set it requires focused attention.
(This is not background music.)
It is creative free form jazz.y blues rock n roll
Pig breaks out the harp and is right in the mix.
I hear Keith down under the jam unless that is PIG. But Keith likes to get in that space
Also no Donna Jean during this part of the night-- one would imagine she was soaking this all in side stage.
Saturday Night encore is mighty potent. Anything they had played would have sizzled at this point and this Sat Night certainly does..
